A Brit Guide Farewell

It is with sadness that we announce, officially, that we have severed ties with our publisher of the Brit Guide to Orlando, which we have written for the last 29 years. It has been a while in the works after some deep disappointments in the past few years, concluding with the publication of the 2024 edition in black and white, against our knowledge or even consultation.

It has been a good run, though. For much of the 29 years we have been the best-selling travel guide of any kind in the UK, and we have sold in excess of 250,000 copies in all. We have been a big part of many visitors’ Orlando holidays and have had some wonderful feedback and made lifelong friends as a result.

We will still be happy to meet up with people when they’re here, and we will continue to post on various social media about our work here in the Theme Park Capital of the World. And our work definitely won’t stop. As the old saying goes, as one door closes, another opens, and that will certainly be our intention going forward.

So, stay tuned to us here on the Veness Travel Media blog, and Follow us on Instagram, BlueSky Social and YouTube. You never know where we will turn up next!

  1. I’m sorry to hear the confirmation of this news, the Brits Guide has underpinned many of our trips to the Sunshine State and many of them are in the book cabinet including a signed 2009 edition (Raglan Road). Many Brits have benefited from the advice in the books during their trips to Orlando, the theme parks and the other attractions, so thanks for all that information and help.

  2. I was very sad to find this out when I went, as is standard(!), to look for the guide that has always been my go-to read before any Orlando trip in readiness for September this year. I always relied on the guide, especially for some of the ‘off the beaten track’ stuff. Well, you definitely will have made a difference to many peoples’ trips over those many years. Oh well, off to try and find some off the beatren track things then! Good luck for the future and will keep any eye on you here and elsewhere.

  3. Was very sad to see this after going to look for the latest version prior to our trip this year, as it’s always been my go-to guide before every trip, especially for some of the ‘off the beaten track’ stuff. You will have made many folks’ trips much easier and better over the years, mine included. Good luck with everything else, will keep watching here and elsewhere.
